The New York City Department of Design and Construction renovated what was formerly the American Red Cross building in the northern terminus of Brooklyn's Civic Center and transformed it into a state-of-the-art, green facility. Architects Swanke Hayden Connell, Ltd. and Jaros Baum & Bolles Consulting Engineers, MEP designed the building. The professionals of Viridian provided energy efficiency and LEED consulting for the project, which includes a 100-person emergency operations center, watch command, general office space, and a press and conference center. The work was performed while the Viridian professionals were part of another company.
