This 35 story tower has 234 "green" apartments that feature low-emission finishes and mechanically-filtered, air-conditioned, winter-humidified air. Other sustainable design elements include a black water treatment plant, storm water reuse for irrigation and green roof. A gas-fired microturbine and photovoltaics contribute to the energy efficiency of the building. Viridian professionals started performing energy and green/LEED analyses while they were the Energy/Green/Commissioning group of another company. This group formed Viridian's nucleus in 2006. Viridian professionals also performed the commissioning of MEP systems. The design team included Handel Architects LLP and Flack + Kurtz MEP. The work was co-funded by the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority.
