The building includes in its fabric portions of an existing historic structure, and at the same time is anchored in modern times through 50 KW array of photovoltaic panels integrated in the facade and roof. This building design was projected to be at least 35 percent more energy efficient than the 1991 New York State Energy Code Ð or about 20-25 percent more energy efficient than the ASHRAE 90.1-1999.

The energy and green analyses were performed by the Energy/Green/Commissioning group of another company. This group formed Viridian's nucleus in 2006. The design team included Becker and Becker Architects and Ettinger Engineering Associates, MEP.
