The City of Bridgeport built four energy-efficient, "green" schools. Viridian professionals worked in collaboration with Fletcher Thompson, the architecture/MEP firm, to help the city meet its goals. After considering several energy efficient systems, the design focused on an HVAC system with ice storage and fan-powered VAV boxes that was projected to significantly reduce the energy cost.

The work was performed by the Energy/Green/Commissioning group of another company. This group became the nucleus of Viridian in 2006.
