When completed, PS 59 MEETH Annex School will be one of the first schools in New York City to meet the criteria of the NYC Green Schools Guide Rating System. This system has been adapted, in part, from the Collaborative for High Performance Schools and LEED NC 2.2, and certification under its guidelines is meant to be roughly equivalent to a LEED NC 2.2 Silver rating. Working with the design team (Ehrenkrantz, Ekstut & Kuhn Architects and Goldman Copeland for MEP) and the developer (World-Wide Holdings), Viridian is performing energy analyses and "green" consulting services for the project.
