Once completed, the new college center at Richard Stockton College, located in Pomona, New Jersey, will serve as a central gathering place on campus. The building features amenities for the student body and college staff, including: administrative offices, areas for student clubs and organizations, dining facilities, an auditorium, a bookstore, a lounge and retail spaces. The building will utilize the existing geothermal aquifer thermal energy storage (ATES) system and a new 30,000 sq. ft. photo voltaic array on the adjacent athletic center tied to the campus electric grid.
The energy efficiency measures incorporated into the project exceed the requirements of the ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2004, Appendix G, by approximately 30 percent, qualifying for six LEED points. Will be complete in 2011.
