The Residence Hall was one of the first buildings in the state of Connecticut to achieve certification under the US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. This design/build project, undertaken by Konover Construction Corporation and designed by Herbert S. Newman and Partners, PC, consists of 103 residential suites on four floors, each having a living/dining room, kitchen, bath and one or two bedrooms for a student population of 350. The project also includes an adjacent 830 space parking garage that serves both the new facility and 2 existing residence halls.

The projects annual energy cost reductions of approximately 33 percent, compared to the minimum requirements of the ASHRAE 90.1-1999 standard and water-efficient plumbing fixtures resulting in 36 percent water use reductions compared to federal plumbing fixture standards.

The professionals of Viridian worked on this project while part of another company. In 2006 the projects and promo of this group had been transferred to Viridian, and the employees of this group have joined Viridian as well.
